No one can ever take your land away

Those are the words carved in the headstone of Senator Dodson’s maternal grandfather’s grave in Broome, in the Yawuru land where he was born, lived, and died; passing on his knowledge, understanding and love for his country. Senator Dodson will speak as a Native Title holder and a legislator on the role that the legal concept of ‘extinguishment’ has come to play in Native Title.
