Pilbara Traditional Owners have been negotiating with mining interests on their Country since before Mabo.

This session aims to share experiences from Traditional Owners’ and lawyers’ perspectives on the challenges, choices and opportunities that arise in negotiating agreements, including heritage protection, environmental management, financial compensation, economic cooperation, and establishing an effective relationship with proponent companies over the long term.
