Indigenous Youth in Governance Masterclass

In November 2018, the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute (AIGI) in partnership with AIATSIS and Reconciliation Australia (RA) and supported by the BHP Billiton Foundation will convene the Indigenous Youth in Governance Masterclass.

The Masterclass is a one-day intensive training and development event for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It will connect, educate and promote 18 to 35 year old Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ who are or hope to be active in the business of governance locally, regionally and nationally.

This Masterclass will combine guest speakers, presentations and small group activities to form an interactive workshop. It will cover critical areas in Indigenous Governance including:

  • Foundations of governance
  • Culture in governance
  • Agitating for change
  • Negotiation skills

The Masterclass will be followed by a reception from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Riverland Bar, Federation Wharf 1 – 9, Melbourne.
