Request collection access or appointment

The AIATSIS Stanner Room is currently closed to the public as a precautionary measure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More information. 

There will also be additional delays to completing existing requests for AIATSIS collection material as we respond to the challenges posed by the pandemic.

  • If your request is related to family history research, please contact the Family History Unit.
  • If your request is not related to the Collection Access Unit or using the AIATSIS collection, please complete the form on the Ask a question page.
Please answer this question if you wish to have your request considered under the Return of Material to Indigenous Communities (ROMTIC) program.

We encourage you to search our collection catalogue Mura, and send us:

  • a list you have created using Mura, or
  • the web address (URL) of the catalogue record for each item, or
  • the full text of the catalogue records for each item, copy-pasted from Mura

Please also tell us the names of the particular people, languages, places or subjects you are interested in.
