Family History Unit enquiry / request form

The AIATSIS Family History Unit (FHU) is funded to support the National Link-Up Services Network to provide family history services for the Stolen Generations, as well as providing Indigenous family history research support for Indigenous Australians.

Our website has many resources that can help get you started or help you continue with your research. There are so many possible places to search, so please take a look at our Family History Kit.

It is important that you do some research and have significant details of names, places, dates, events at hand before contacting the Family History Unit. The more information the better as we may duplicate the same research you have already done without knowing, which then will not be helpful for you.

We understand that there may be circumstances where you may not have much details so please let us know that and we will take that into consideration when reviewing your request, to ensure we can offer the most relevant and appropriate service for you.
